The Lifelines amateur research group, supported by Culture Syndicates, worked with their local community to discover the stories of the men from the Officer Training Corps based at the University of Nottingham during the First World War. These men were identified by their presence on the War Memorial at University Park, and through research into those men who came home again and continued with their lives after the war. Culture Syndicates helped the Lifelines team to develop three workshops for the local community, and in collaboration with the current East Midlands Officer Training Corps, produced a book about the history of the men in the Corps and their involvement in the First World War. The findings of the book were shared at a launch event, and encouraged as many people as possible to find out more about their local history.
