Culture Syndicates are excited to be working with the Wordsworth Trust on ‘Moss Hut 2020’, an engagement project which forms part of the wider Wordsworth 250 celebrations.
The Moss Hut 2020 project will be a national, if not international, celebration of William Wordsworth’s 250th birthday. Culture Syndicates are marketing and organising a community engagement project for the Trust which will remember and recreate the moss hut that Wordsworth escaped to in his garden at Dove Cottage.
As the Project Coordinator, Culture Syndicates is responsible for the design and implementation of this project. We will recruit an artist to create a prototype moss hut, which we will then use to engage local communities (including schools, colleges, universities, and businesses). We will inspire these local groups to create their own moss huts by running a compelling marketing campaign. We will then take the prototype moss hut on a tour, organising and facilitating engagement with the project at events and festivals in Cumbria and across England.
Throughout the project, we will recruit and manage a group of volunteers to build the skills and confidence of local people.
